The fact that the pyramids in Egypt are still around and mostly intact is as incredible as it is inspiring.
With little more than simple
copper tools and a tremendous amount of will, they created a legacy that has outlived
them in ways they could never imagine. It's doubtful I'll be able to
create anything that lasts a fraction as long as those structures, but that won't stop me from trying.
As you can tell with materials like concrete and granite, the Culture Monuments I'm
creating are built to last. Experts have estimated the piece pictured about should last over 1,000 years,
although the actual lifespan of the piece will be determined by others who can choose to carry on the
legacy of such pieces, or not. My goal is to give future generations those
kinds of options to come to have a better understanding of their past to impact their own futures.
